Abstract
Gerstmann syndrome (GS) consists of finger agnosia, right-left disorientation, agraphia, and acalculia.GS is associated with lesions in the left angular gyrus but has been rarely reported with the hemorrhagic
lesion. We report a 56-year-old right-handed woman who showed GS secondary to a left temporoparietal hemorrhage. She presented with difficulty in reading and naming that developed a day ago. She also revealed four cardinal symptoms of GS. A computed tomography (CT) and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) demonstrated a left temporoparietal hemorrhage. We report this unusual case which also represented Gerstmann¡¯s syndrome secondary to an intracerebral hemorrhage.
